Here is a list of the ten best pen and paper roleplaying games of all-time. Although there is no scientific way to prove the ‘best RPG games’ ever, this list takes into account the overall popularity of pen and paper roleplaying games since the industry was first created.
10 – Gamma World – It’s a post-apocalyptic game, but not in the style of Mad Max. This game fit more into the style of a science fantasy game. You could play all sorts of random mutant creatures, in addition to playing people that were mostly normal.
9 – Vampire the Masquerade – Some may argue which is the best World of Darkness product. But Vampire the Masquerade was the game that put White Wolf on the map. Vampire the Masquerade has also become the number Live Action Roleplaying Game in the world. Go LARP’ers!
8 – RuneQuest – This game was considered as one of the ‘Big Three’ at some point. The big three being D&D, Traveller, and RuneQuest. It provided a different setting and system than other fantasy roleplaying games at the time.
7 – Champions – Although it may no longer be the most popular comic-themed roleplaying game ever, this game has been around a long time since it was first published in 1981. The game set the stage for many other comic book and super hero related roleplaying games.
6 – Tunnels & Trolls – Right after D&D was T&T. Tunnels & Trolls was the second roleplaying game ever created. The game was created as an alternate, and hopefully easier to play, version of Dungeons & Dragons.
5 – GURPs – The Generic Universal RolePlaying System is able to adapt itself to any game environment. Any setting you can think of has been created for the system. Its creator, Steve Jackson, is one of the most well-known game designers in the industry because of this game.
4 – Star Wars – Based on the movies carrying the same name, the Star Wars Roleplaying Game was first created by West End Games using the d6 system. Eventually it moved on to other companies and saw some play time under the d20 system, and then finally the Saga Edition. It is the premiere sci-fi, or space opera, themed roleplaying game due to George Lucas dominating the minds of nerds all over the world.
3 – Traveller – Not as famous as its other space opera buddy, Star Wars. This game, however, did come out as a roleplaying system before George Lucas’s creation did. Traveller was first created in 1977 and has been going strong ever since. The game is definitely considered one of the ‘original’ RPGs.
2 – Call of Cthulhu – A unique entry into this list. This horror-based roleplaying game is based off of the works of H.P. Lovecraft. There really isn’t a popular, comparable game out on the market now. Instead, different gaming companies have chosen to create Call of Cthulhu in a variety of different systems under a variety of different publishers.
1 – Dungeons & Dragons – The most famous pen and paper roleplaying game of all time. This fantasy game still dominates the market with all of its various incarnations, from the original D&D to 4th Edition. D&D creators Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson are legends in the industry, just as the game itself is.
Some people may disagree with the overall placement of some of these games. Others may ask why certain games are even on here. Why haven’t other games been included, like Shadowrun, Robotech, Palladium Fantasy, Rifts, or many newer games? Well, they weren’t. This list was created by veteran gamers and apparently they had a little nostalgia in them. So what do you think of the list of best RPG games ever?

Microsoft has done it again, they have created an ingenious new marketing campaign… err… new game that you may have heard of recently that pits you against one hundred other Xbox Live gamers in a test of reflexes and intelligence.
1 vs 100 is Microsoft’s attempt to bring advertisers and gamers together in a trivia show style setting, much in the same manner as Who Wants to be a Millionaire or Deal or No Deal but geared more towards gamers. The game will actually be played and hosted in real time over Xbox Live where players will compete against one another in an attempt to win actual prizes like free Xbox Live Arcade games or Microsoft points. The crowd can even participate and win prizes as well if they can outwit “The One”. The game is still in a Beta phase right now so people are just playing for fun but once its ready for release they should begin adding prizes.
This sound like a great idea and if they can pull it off, it will attract a lot of casual gamers and even some non gamers to sit down and play. It will also give gamers a chance to gain a little bit of notoriety if they are able perform well enough during the game. Microsoft had better not charge us to play the game though, as they should be earning plenty of revenue from each of 1 vs 100’s many sponsors. Yes there are commercials periodically shown to you as you play the game but in my opinion, that’s would be a small price to pay for a FREE game that allows you to win REAL prizes.
Which brings me to the topic of this article I’m writing. As I was browsing my Xbox dashboard earlier I came across the little ad that they had placed for a 1 vs 100 sweepstakes that is going on for the next few weeks where players can be entered into a drawing for various prizes just by playing 1 vs 100 during certain eligible times. Nothing special really, just another sweepstakes that’s intended to draw more people to the game. The usual PR stuff that Microsoft does for all of their “cash cow” intellectual properties. Except on this one in particular I noticed something very, well… funny to be honest, buried deep inside the legal disclaimer of this sweepstakes that Microsoft has posted on their web site and on Xbox live.
Now I know what your thinking, “Who the hell reads that crap?” and I say to you… I do sometimes because I have always found them to be kind of funny. I get a giggle out of how much crap they have to put into their disclaimers just to protect themselves from being sued by us.
Anyway here is what is written on their legal page, this an excerpt that is copied and pasted directly from it:
“6) GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sweepstakes entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules. The laws of the United States govern this Sweepstakes. All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply. Each potential winner will be notified via U.S. Mail and/or e-mail within two (2) weeks of the prize drawing. If you are selected as a potential winner and you are a Canadian resident, you will be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone*. If you answer the skill-testing question incorrectly, as determined by us in our sole discretion, you will be disqualified and, at our discretion, an alternate winner shall be chosen from among all remaining eligible entries.”
Did you catch that? It seems to that Microsoft (the promoter of this sweepstakes) does not want to give you a prize if you happen to live in Canada and cannot answer their “time-limited mathematical skill-testing question”. Can’t even use a damn calculator or the internet, geez. I feel bad for all of the stupid Canadians out there but that also begs the question(s).
Why are they testing a Canadian citizens’ math skills for winning a prize?
Why doesn’t a US citizen have to take the test? Do they think Americans are too stupid to even bother giving a test to in the first place?
I don’t know but it sure does make you think Microsoft is losing their collective minds again or they just plain don’t want there products in the hands of mathematically challenged Canadians.

There’s a new product on the World of Warcraft market called Hayden Hawke’s Secret Gold Guide. It claims to be the best gold guide out there, but is it, really?
As a long standing and highly respected member of the World of Warcraft community I have been asked several times what I thought about this gold farming guide and whether or not I use them.
To answer the second question…No, I do not use Gold Farming Guides for World of Warcraft. It’s not because I condone the use of them or they don’t work but rather it’s because I don’t need them. I have a lot of time to play World of Warcraft and my gold making skills are pretty good.
However, due to the number of inquiries I have received for this gold guide, I bought a copy to review it and see what I thought and I will answer the questions that I received below.
Can you really make 600 gold + an hour with the Secret Gold Guide?
Answer: Yes you can, but keep in mind, the people who will be making over 600 gold an hour with the strategies in this guide are going to be those who practice and study the techniques discussed. I’m sure anyone can do it but if you are new to the game you won’t get the full 600 gold or more an hour right away, but the strategies are very simple and I think anyone can do them.
Does Hayden Hawke really play World of Warcraft and is it really a she?
Answer: This question is really funny, some people think that girls don’t play games but being in a top raiding guild I’ve come to find that some nights 20% of our raid is made up of girls and yes they are really really good. In fact, I’ve never met a girl WoW player that was a noobie. Girls have a different way of playing the game and seem to be faster learners for the most part than boys. Besides going to meet Hayden Hawke in person there’s not really a way for me to tell if she’s really a girl, I would say yes after watching the video.
Is this Gold Guide worth the money?
Answer: The $57 she asks for the guide is probably a very good deal, especially when you consider the bonus material she is offering. I’ve looked at and read all of the guide and the bonus material and compared them to other gold guides and bonus material out there.
The findings? Most gold guides definitely do not have the quality of bonus material she has and if they do it’s really lame stuff that not many will benefit from. From a guide perspective, I found the guide more usable and easy to understand than other gold guides that I’ve seen. All of the tips did seem to be freshly written. Without trying everything in the guide I would say all the strategies work but I’m going to test them all anyway and if I can find something that doesn’t work I’ll post a comment to this article.

So you want to ride in style in your new chopper or perhaps you prefer the old school look of a mammoth. Either way you’d better be ready to hand over 15,000 plus wow gold. Everyone will agree that is a ton of wow gold and if you don’t know the best ways to farm gold you might be talking about more than 100 hours of gold farming but do not gear I’ve got some wow gold farming tips that will have you raking in gold so fast you can have that mount next week.
3 Extremely Fast Ways to Make 15,000 Wow Gold
1. Professions – Every profession has the potential to make decent amounts of gold but nothing is as easy as mining and herbalism especially when you combine the two. Even if you don’t have either of these skills already its worth either picking them as new professions or leveling an alt to take advantage of them. Once you have both maxed to 450 head out to Sholazar Basin with your epic mount. Now simply fly around the outer edges making sure to constantly switch back and forth between ore tracking and herb tracking. (I suggest creating a macro to make this easier). Depending on your server and prices at the time you should be able to rake in 500 plus gold an hour quite easily.
2. Auction House – Playing the auction house is often overlooked as the number money maker in Wow. It is actually the fastest and easiest way to make gold in World of Warcraft. An experienced operator can rake in thousands of gold an hour. Some players complain this is boring but I disagree. It is basically the Wow version of the stock market and learning to play it will take some time and practice. I recommend grabbing a mod called auctioneer which will help you track item prices and trends you can use to make maximum profits.
3. Fishing – How many people actually take the time to level fishing to its max. The simple answer is not all that many. It is boring and tedious but like anything that takes work it ends up raking major profits in. Once you level your fishing skill to 450 head to Dalaran where you can fish in a small pool outside violet hold. You should be able to fish 5-6 keys out of the water an hour. Those keys are used to open a nearby lockbox with rare items inside.
Making gold in Wow can be done by everyone and making 1,000 gold a day can be done in a number of ways but you shouldn’t have to sacrifice hours on end to make decent amounts of gold. After all you are supposed to playing Wow for fun right? That’s why I spend the last three years perfecting strategies for making as much gold possible in the shortest amount of time. I know many people out there are still buying gold but getting caught just one time can get your account banned and no one wants that.

One of the most anticipated and innovative video gaming systems is the Nintendo Wii Fit. Known for being one of the first companies to bring home video games to the masses, Nintendo has created a first in gaming with the Nintendo Wii Fit. First launched in 2006, the Nintendo Wii Fit has won many awards. It has an edge over its closest competitors (the Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360) in that it is able to read ones movement in 3D with its one-of-a-kind remote controller. Instead of just sitting and pressing buttons on the controller, the Wii Fit encourages activity and movement.
The remote works from different angles and makes one feel like they are actually in the midst of the game, rather than just sitting on a couch in a living room. Because of this, the Nintendo Wii Fit has mass appeal and has reached a greater demographic than traditional video game systems. Not only is it easy enough for a small child to play, but it is often used in retirement or nursing homes as it encourages activity for older people, and useful for those with limited mobility.
Not only has Nintendo invented a new way of playing, it also has the ability to get updates and messages over the internet, even when on standby. It is the smallest of Nintendo consoles, so it can fit in even the smallest of spaces. It takes Optical discs and has a slot for an SD card as well as two USB ports. These allow for the uploading and downloading of games, pictures, Mp3s. It comes equipped with one remote and nunchuck (used for certain games) as well as a compact bar that senses the movements of the remote and nunchuck as well as Wii Fit Sports which includes five different sports: bowling, boxing, tennis, baseball and golf. Each game is a lot of fun, but do not overdo it too much the first time you play – you will realize there are muscles that you have not used in a while!
Another attachment one can purchase for the Wii Fit is the Wii Fit. The Fit comes with a Balance Board that is placed on the floor and when stood on, has multiple sensors which detects movements and measures balance. It is so sensitive that all one has to do is shift their weight and the Wii Fit board follows the movement. The Fit is perfect for those that want to keep in shape but get bored of the same workout. The disk comes with 48 different fitness games and allows one to keep track of their weight gains or loss and body mass index and can support up to 330 lbs.
Exercises on the Fit can be categorized by Balance games, which work on your core muscles, strength training, which pumps up muscles, yoga (encourages flexibility and balance) and aerobics which works up a sweat and exercises the heart.
There is also a log that one can record activities done apart from the Wii Fit to keep track of your fit level.
Nintendo Wii Fit and Wii Fit are perfect for those who need or want to increase activity by turning exercise into fun and games.

Some players will pay real money and buy online gold from net-services, and the gold-selling net-services spend a lot of money and effort to get you to their sites, but as you know (or not), selling and buying of gold is a violation of the terms of service, and can result in having your account banned. “No more WOW for you.”
This is why a lot of people are looking for new strategies and hot tips on how to make fast gold on World of Warcraft. And when you have demand, someone will supply it.
You can find various gold guides that have been created, filled with good gold-making strategies. You will find that must guides will give you valid, useful and legal ways to make WOW gold. The regular price of an online gold guide (with membership) will vary from $30 to $100, with an average of $50.
Many low cost and medium price gold guides will give the same material and gold making strategies, while the medium price will look better, have some graphics, and long lists of items you can make gold from, so you will not have to look for it yourself. While the medium price gold guides will give you thickness, most of the time you will not get more value from them.
On the high end of gold guides prices you will get an add-on additionally to the guide. If the add-on is interactive, you will get your money worth. Some add-on are just notes on the map, it will save you the effort of looking for it on the gold guide and printing the guide, but this add-ons are not as good.
One more advantage of the expensive guides is the obligation of free updated of the gold guide. If you buy a guide without an updated obligation you pay for yesterday method. Even if the guide is very new, the gold making strategies within it will get out of date, very fast. Farming zones will be over farmed, mobs will get nerfed, and with all the changes that Blizzard is implemented all the times this is only getting worse.
So as you can understand the only way to go is high end…
But what guide to get?
Most guides will give you either a professional step by step on one or two gold making strategies or a go through, but not as dip as you need, on a lot of strategies. The step by step will be better for most players, the only problem is that if the specific strategy is not for you, it will be hard to make gold from it.
But what if you don’t want to spend your money on a guide, or you don’t know what strategy is good for you?
You can find some free gold guide if you look for it, most of them will only give you part of the system, and you will have to buy the pied guide to get the gold making strategy to work. Others will give out of date or even wrong information, wasting your time.

Anyone who is looking for a horde leveling guide should think about why they need one. If you’re simply stuck on a quest, then you just might be missing something. However, if you find yourself with a quest log full without understand how to complete any of them, then a horde leveling guide is definitely needed. This isn’t the only reason, but do you really want to be stuck on level 33 forever?
The Three Areas
You have to understand how big the World of Warcraft game is before you can really know if you need a horde leveling guide. If Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms don’t keep you busy for a long time, the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King expansions will for sure. Each of them will have you spending hours upon hours in specific locations and leave you wondering what you’re missing elsewhere.
How Fast to 80
When it comes down to it, most people want to know the tips and secrets of getting to level 80. However, you have to realize what all is involved before deciding whether or not it’s time to purchase a horde leveling guide. First of all you want something that will talk about all horde classes and not just one. Then you have to figure out whether you’re going to get a map of everywhere you need to go.
If a horde leveling guide talks about having pictures of inside the game, then make sure you check out the examples if they have them. Then of course you’re going to need to know more about Silvermoon City, Thunderbluff, Orgrimmar, and every other major horde city out there. We’ve found Orgrimmar to be the worst, but if you actually have detailed directions right at your fingertips, then the process is a whole lot easier.
The Northrend Blues
When you do try to find a horde leveling guide, see if there is any information on Northrend. Many eBooks out there don’t have updated information on the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, so it’s important to find it wherever you can. In doing so you will end up being able to have an advantage over those who try to learn everything on their own. When you reach this stage it will be increasingly important to figure out where the Quarter and Grand Masters are throughout the region.
Things You May Forget
Many times we’re so caught up on figuring out how to level faster, that we forget all the other aspects of the game. However, if you can find a horde leveling guide that gives you inside tips on armor, different options for PvP builds, epic gear, or fighting in battlegrounds and arenas then you have yourself a true gem. The only thing left to do after that is start putting everything into action.
