Every parent wants to be sure that their kids stay healthy and that they get in enough activity. As that can sometimes prove to be a challenge, these games see to it that your child stays active, entertained, and works towards a healthy lifestyle.

1. Wii Sports: Though this is a basic one, it’s a great one to get the kids involved and interested. Even if you’ve had your Wii for awhile, it’s well worth revisiting. Each game on here requires some level of activity and gets the kids up off the couch. This is what sold parents on the Wii in the first place because it’s not your typical video game!

2. Carnival Games: It may not sound like it from the name, but this game provides the basis for an excellent workout. Many of the games on here not only require a certain level of physical activity, but also skills that they can sharpen as well. This is an excellent game and offers up many different options as well.

3. Active Outdoor Challenge: You will no longer see your child sitting on the couch when they play this game. If you want your kids to be active, then this is the game to choose. They love it because it keeps them interested and feeling like they are outdoors on their own little adventure.

4. Punch-Out: If you thought that boxing was challenging and fun on Wii Sports, then this is a whole new twist. This strengthens their hand eye coordination, but more importantly provides the basis for an excellent workout and that’s a surefire winner right there.

5. Ski and Snowboard: As these are hot sports for kids these days, then it’s no wonder that they’ll love this. Kids can get the feeling that they are whooshing down a huge ski hill, and therefore they are active without even realizing it.

6. Dance Dance Revolution: Most kids just love to dance, and even those that don’t will find this game entertaining. It’s a classic revisited and therefore is an excellent option to get your kids up and moving in no time.

7. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games: Just in time for the real winter Olympics, this game is a ton of fun. As kids watch their favorite sports on the Olympics, they can pretend to be a part of them as well. They also happen to get a great workout in the process.

So before you give up and think that your child will be a couch potato forever more, these games are well worth introducing your child to. Chances are you won’t have to do much work to get them interested, and they’ll be up and moving and loving every minute of it.
